FAQS

Who are we?

Chill Switch is an active lifestyle CBD brand on a mission to remove barriers to trial within the category by making CBD more accessible through innovative, easy-to-use formats and budget-friendly price points. We manufacture all of our products through Open Book Extracts in their state-of-the-art, cGMP-certified facility in Roxboro, North Carolina.

So, what is CBD?

Three little letters. Countless benefits. CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of many phytocompounds found naturally in hemp plants. We love it because it’s the one associated with the most health-promoting benefits and it doesn’t cause any kind of high.

And how does it work?

All humans are born with a network of receptors, enzymes and endocannabinoids that make up our endocannabinoid system (ECS), which functions to regulate homeostasis throughout the body. Wait. Did we lose you at homeostasis? It’s just a scientific term to describe that vital sense of yin and yang. We want the conditions in our body to be *just right* in order to feel our best, and the ECS plays an important role in signaling to the brain that it’s alllll good. By stimulating receptors in your ECS, CBD products help the body regulate stress, anxiety, inflammation, sleep and mood.

What is the difference between hemp oil and CBD oil?

CBD is found within hemp. That means hemp oil can also be CBD oil! We sell hemp products that do not exclusively contain CBD isolate. Our products are broad spectrum, which means that they benefit from other elements of the hemp plant as well.

How long does it take for CBD to work?

You should feel initial effects within an hour. However, to truly take full advantage of the positive effects of CBD, you should take it consistently over a longer period of time, sometimes over a month — hence our 30-day supply of Chill Snaps. We recommend taking one Snap a day initially. You can move to two boxes a month if you feel the need to increase your intake.

What do people take CBD for?

  • Calming your mind when you have anxiety and stress
  • Soothing aching joints
  • Taking the edge off of migraines and headaches
  • Maintaining balance of the body and mind
  • Managing nervousness in pets

Why broad spectrum?

You’ve probably noticed that our hemp products are labeled as broad spectrum. To understand why we stand behind broad spectrum, it’s important to know what these terms mean. It’s related to the way CBD is extracted from the hemp.

Full Spectrum contains all elements of the plant, including any trace amounts of THC, the compound that can create a high.

CBD Isolate is 99% pure CBD. All other elements of the plant are removed. There are no trace amounts of THC or any other cannabinoids.

Broad Spectrum is, to us, the best of both worlds. Traces of THC are removed, but most other cannabinoids remain, preserving what’s known as the “Entourage Effect,” a way of describing how multiple cannabinoids working together can increase the number of beneficial effects.

Will I fail a drug test?

We can’t guarantee the results of any kind of drug test. But if you’re concerned about failing a drug test and you still want to take CBD, broad-spectrum products like ours offer the greatest effect while still having non-detectable amounts of THC.

Why is lab testing important when it comes to CBD?

Not all hemp products are created equal. While CBD isn’t fully regulated by the FDA yet, there are opportunities for unethical producers of hemp to cut corners and make low-quality (or even dangerous) products. With so many options out there, it’s crucial for all of us to hold companies accountable for their products through third-party testing and transparency. Here at Chill Switch, we make sure to thoroughly test all of our products and make the COA (Certificate of Analysis) freely available for you to review.

Where does our hemp come from?

We are proud to partner with Open Book Extracts to ensure transparency and control through the lineage of finished goods, from soil to oil.
